Senior Software Engineer

The role

Northline is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to strengthen the core ledger and settlement platform. You will work on high-throughput services, data integrity, and the interfaces that partner banks rely on every day. Responsibilities: • Design and implement backend services for payments, ledgering, and reconciliation • Improve reliability, observability, and operational runbooks for production systems • Partner with product, risk, and customer engineering on delivery plans • Review code, mentor teammates, and contribute to engineering standards Requirements: • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience • Strong experience with TypeScript or Java in production services • Comfort with PostgreSQL, event-driven systems, and cloud infrastructure • Clear written communication and a bias toward maintainable systems Benefits: • Competitive salary and equity • Hybrid work in Chicago or Austin • Medical, dental, and vision coverage • Annual learning stipend
